As my school days finally have come to an end it was time to start another chapter. I’ve done some small freelance projects. Among those were a pattern design for an art exhibition, a few branding concepts and a website design.
And starting from October (2012) I started working as Designer at Socialiii. Which is a nice place to work. It’s a small and young start-up company that focuses on Social Media. Most of my projects there included web- and interface-design. Currently I only work there part-time as they’re still
Regarding Design there are a lot of aspects that I’m really interested in. Webdesign, User Experience Design, Usability, Graphic Design, Typography, Illustration & Print Design are among these. And what I like about these is that it’s ever evolving. There is always something new to learn. And recently I joined Codecademy.
I learned some basic understanding and use of HTML, CSS & PHP during my first study (Communication & Multimedia Design) and afterwards at a couple of work projects.
So, this year is my final year studying ‘Graphic Design’ in Belgium. I finished my last project in January. Now I’ve to wait for the external jury at the end of this schoolyear, as that will be my last presentation.
Reflecting back over the past years in Belgium I have to say it both had pros and cons. I had a background in Multimedia Design so I have broadened my horizons by studying Graphic Design in general. I learned a lot about lay-outs, grids, typography and print design. So reflecting back, I do not regret it.
