New challenges

The first semester of my Graphic Design education brought some new challenges for me. I learned more about typography, I designed two illustrated booklets and my drawings skills really seem to improve. When I browse through my sketchbook I actually can see how my latest drawings slowly evolved and improved in such a short timespan. It’s still not near perfect but I think it’s nice to see that it’s going somewhere.

And now the new semester has officially started I already started brainstorming and sketching ideas for the new assignments. These are mostly based about logo design and branding which is something I enjoy as well.

Assignment for my Graphic Design study where we had to create a booklet about ourselves in 2030. My theme was “Mind-traveling”. The booklet includes 6 different illustrations all based around this theme.

Illustration overload

Back at CMD illustrations were more of an exception than a common thing. While studying Graphic Design it’s obviously that illustrations and other designs are more important. So far I’ve been drawing something almost every day. At the moment I can’t see a drastic improvement in my drawing skills yet but I do feel like I’m making progress.

I’m working on several different projects at the moment. One is a booklet about mind traveling. If you’re interested; I posted a detail from one page on Dribble. And another booklet is all about different techniques.For each illustration we’ve to use a different technique that is connected to the subject you’re representing. So at the moment I’m busy with several designs and I must says it feels good to work at things like these again.
