Muzikalo game concept

A game concept to involve children in a fun way with the Muzikalo music sessions. Our concept takes place in a world where all music is banned by the evil croc. However, rabbit and his friends do enjoy making music a lot.

To help rabbit save the music the children will have to sing, dance or make music on the right time. While the story is presented on a beamer or large screen, the kids can perform these actions to control rabbit in real life.

To continue the story they’ll have to perform the right action as soon as the button will come closer to the action bar on the left. Actions are divided into 4 group colours. The red group for example will have to sing and use other movements than the yellow one.

Last weeks of school

It’s quite a weird feeling, but I actually had my last school lessons last week. And after the exams this week I’m going to start with my graduation intership. So if everything goes well I’m almost finished with my education. Or rather, with my current education. I’m still doubting whether I should continue with a Master education or not.

One of my current schoolprojects is called “The Interface”. Our group is working on a game concept. And I mostly did the Interface design, which I’ll upload within a couple of days.

I’d like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy Newyear!

It seems like we’ll finally get a white Christmas this year in the Netherlands. At least I hope so. It would be ironic to spend days in the snow, and then it’s gone on Christmas.

In 2010 I’m done with my school modules, and it’s time to start my internship in February. You also can expect a couple of new projects then, both school and private.

Last modules

The first modules of this school year are over. Which means that there only are two modules left before our graduation projects are about to start. Quite spooky, but I’m also looking forward it.

In the meantime I’m working on a couple of freelance projects. One of them being a website redesign, the other an illustration. And next week I’m going to start with the new modules being ‘The Interface’ and ‘E-learning’.

In your dreams

Our second school assignment to work with flash. It’s a project that exists from 4 different scenes, all based on one theme and style.

The theme was free of choice, where I choose a surrealistic dream setting. An important aspect of the assignment was to make the scenes interactive while learning to use Adobe Flash. Some aspects of the settings therefore could be dragged or clicked for effects.

Parcel Plaza

As part of creating an identity, I created this logo for Parcel Plaza.

Besides creating an interface for a new courier company there also was a need for a matching identity. In this light the name Parcel Plaza was created, along with the identity and logo.

Stans Hairstyling

For Stans Hairstyling I redesigned their website while preservering the original style of their store. The left pictures change randomly every time the page reloads, showing a different range of hairstyles.

Parcel Plaza

A new courier company was looking for an identity and webdesign. The company needed an application where parcels could be exchanged.

Parcel Plaza is a project of CMD Solutions, and have been made in cooperation with students from Software Engineering. My function was to design an interface and identity for the application.

Draw for Health

For an information exchange assignment our group worked on a concept that focused on supporting young patients. Sick children often can’t leave their hospital beds and are bound to the confinements of their rooms. However children have to urge to play and have social contacts.

Our solution was to design an application that could connect the young patients in the hospital through a drawing device. I worked on the creative process, developping the concept and the final paper.

Troubadours

A touchscreen interface and webdesign for the Troubadours exhibition at Museum Het Domein.
The exhibition about local musicians made use of a touchscreen application. With the touchscreen visitors could view information and play songs.

This project has been made at my internship at Bic Multimedia, where I developed the designs for the touchscreen application and the website.
